• According to Saharareporters an Online media platform that specializes in investigative journalism, has again unraveled a high level sinister moves by a group of highly placed politically exposed persons in the Northern part of the country to destabilize the current political trajectory in Kano state and cause chaos in the ongoing appeal of the gubernatorial election appeal at the tribunal.

The Independent Mirror reported that this was made know by the Northern Diaspora Forum, at a press conference in Atlanta Georgia, USA, September 13, 2023.

According to the NDF, the group is led by General Aliyu Gusau, Governor Hope Uzodinma, Badaru Abubakar, Abubakar Bagudu and APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

The NDF Leader Auwal Mamorah stated that the five man political mafia squad led by Gusau are bent on causing political tension in the Kano and throwing the state in to monumental chaos.

According to Auwal General Gusau has since mobilized to action in galvanising support of Nigerian leaders including former heads of state/Presidents to ensure Kwankwaso and his NNPP are blocked from grabbing any political opportunity.

The political mafias who are described as the enemies of Kano have been working with seven other powerful people within Nigeria’s political space, which the NDF is set to unveil soonest as the investigation continues.

The major aim and mission of this highly placed individuals is to neutralize Kwankwaso’s political strength in Kano and Northern Nigeria at large ahead of 2027 political timing.

He hinted that the Gusau ring group are working closely with the Apeal court judges to validate the judgment of the tribunal that declare APC candidate as the winner of Kano Guber election.

The group stressed that Yusuf Abba was rightly voted by the Kano people, owing to the NNPP maxim of talakawa movement, popularly known as Kwankwasiya movement, an ideological movement of late Aminu Kano championed by Rabiu Kwankwaso.

He added that Governor Hope Uzodinma, of Imo state, was drafted into the fold by Ganduje, following his vast network in the judicial circle.

Auwal warned that Kano being a critical decider in Nigeria’s political spectrum should not be hijacked by selfish political gladiators whose interest is to advance their evil agenda of conquest and not people’s oriented governance.

He sighted how general Gusau imposed his son Mahadi Gusau as deputy governor under former governor matawalle in 2019, when PDP took over the state. He later pushed to make the son succeed his principal which led to matawalle decamped to APC and the governor orchestrating Mahadi’s impeachment.

The NDF leader declared that all this political scheming is to return his son as the governor come 2027, the reason he has aligned with Ganduje and the other north west political leaders to decimate Kwankwaso politically by witch-hunting governor Yusuf Abba and truncating NNPP led administration in Kano state.

According to Auwal, Badaru the minister of Defence despite being a resident of Kano is also working hand-in- hand with the group to truncate the gains of NNPP in Kano state. You will recall Badaru was also a presidential aspirant on the platform of APC before he later dropped his ambition and aligned with Ahmed Tinubu, with the hope of clinching the vice presidential running mate to Tinubu.

While Bagudu on the other hand is the one coordinating meetings across the to make sure he garnered support so as to turn the people of the state against the governor and discredit the NNPP led government and the kwankwasiya movement.

The leader of the group Auwal also drew the attention of Kano people in an article published by peoples Gazzette credited to Farouq Kperogi, were the Professor raised concerned issues of judicial manipulation by the APC in the Kano tribunal judgement. Citing instances of high order compromise from above to deny Kano people of their preferred NNPP governor.

He noted that the fear of the so-called general Gusau’s group are scared of the peoples oriented policies of NNPP which are centered on the Maxim of talakawa ideology earlier championed by late Aminu Kano and currently entrenched in the north west by kwankwaso through NNPP.

He then urged all well meaning Nigerians most especially northwest political elite to be aware of this political mafia group who are out to sabotage the wishes of Kano people for personal political advancement. Adding that all hand should be on deck to see that judiciary does the wishes of the overwhelming people of Kano state.
